TSA wait times by airport
Use the airport list above to open an airport-specific hourly planning range. FlyBuffer shows modeled airport-level estimates unless a source explicitly supports a more specific live checkpoint value.
What “estimated now” means
“Estimated now” means FlyBuffer is using the freshest relevant inputs currently available for that airport. It does not mean every checkpoint lane is being observed. Read the range together with its confidence and freshness status.
Why a range is more useful than one exact number
Security pressure changes with time of day, passenger demand and airport conditions. A range makes that variability visible and lets the departure planner show how a cautious plan differs from a tighter one.
How to read the hourly pattern
The hourly strip is a planning pattern. It can show that a morning period usually needs more allowance than midday, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed queue for your exact checkpoint.
What can change security pressure
Airport passenger scale, hour, weekday, broader passenger demand and operating conditions can all affect the estimate. None of those factors can see every traveler or every open lane.
TSA PreCheck needs its own evidence
PreCheck can reduce checkpoint friction, but FlyBuffer does not subtract a universal number of minutes. If you have a reliable current estimate for your PreCheck lane, enter that value in the departure planner.
Security is only one block in the trip
A shorter queue does not remove parking, rental-car return, bag drop, document processing or the walk to the gate. Use the security page to size one component, then calculate the complete departure plan.
Security estimate FAQ
Most values are modeled planning ranges. A value should only be called live when a source genuinely supports that label.
The range uses the freshest relevant inputs currently available for the airport; it is not an observation of every checkpoint lane.
A range makes uncertainty visible instead of presenting a changing process as one exact minute.
No fixed discount is applied without checkpoint-specific evidence.
Treat it as the security block only; parking, bags, terminal movement and travel still need separate time.
